Black 'n Yellow

I own a bunch of Yellow eye shadows, but I am usually hesitant to use them, as they are overly bright and tend to look a tad janky. However, when I was learning to perfect my gele (head tie)skills the other day, I noticed the yellow in my top and decided to experiment with my BH cosmetics yellow eye shadow. Since the yellow was highly pigmented, I kept the rest of the eyes minimal by using a light orange shade as a transition color. I also ditched the black eye shadow that I usually use for a smokey effect, and opted for a brown shade. To offset the bright yellow, I lined my bottom lid with the darkest eye pencil I could find. I kept the lips toned down with a light mauve color and lined them with a dark brown and red pencil...and voila, the final look!

What do you guys think of this look? Please let me know what you think in the comment section. Have a great weekend.

  2. Hi,

I was just about to ask who tied the gele, you did great!

I've really got to get aboard the eyeshadow train, it always looks so nice when it's done properly like yours.

    Have a lovely weekend.

  3. I think it's a gorgeous combo. I am also afraid of bright eye shadow, but this looks very nice! I wish I knew how to tie a gele!

Things to do in Havana, Cuba

HELLO EVERYONE! Yes, I am screaming at the top of my lungs, as I haven't been in this space this year. First things first, how are you all coping with the pandemic? I hope you and your family are safe. It is a tough time for everyone, and I am hoping this passes away sooner than later.
Now on to today's post. Guys, last August I made it to my dream city, Havana! Cuba was a country that had rated high on my travel list for ages, but due to travel restrictions imposed on U.S. residents, I thought a visit there was impossible. This cannot be further from the truth, and I will explain the travel process in another blog post.
My time in Cuba was spent in 4 different cities, and I will be starting my Cuba travel series with Havana.Enjoy
1. Ride in a classic car --this is a must do The classic car rides are a fun way to see the city. We opted for a 2 hour ride, and we got to see China Town, Havana Vedado, Revolutionary Square, and John Lennon Park.

2. Visit Plaza de la Revolución Revoluti…

Confetti Fun

Hey chica, it's that time of the year again--my yearly birthday photoshoot! Whoop whoop!
In 2016, I did the Rose, Tulle, and Leather shoot, while 2015 was Colors and Balloons. The 2017 shoot was themed Ethreally mint, and last year was Wintery Black. This year I had an elaborate theme in mind, but due to time constraints, I wasn't able to pull it off. I ended up settling for something really simple and fun. And what's more fun than playing in colorful confetti.
Enjoy the photos.

That's all folks! What do you think of this year's birthday shoot?

Living Colorfully in Old Town Alexandria

Hey guys, happy humpday! Just two more days, and the weekend is here--whoop! Speaking about weekends, this past Saturday was a fun one! My cousin was visiting from Lagos, so we decided to take a train ride to Old Town, Alexandria in Virginia.
The day started with brunch, and ended with super fun vibrant colors we encountered all around Old Town Alexandria. I usually do not publish videos here, but we also took many cool videos and I couldn't resist not posting it here.
Enjoy... I have been to this restaurant several times, so once I got in, I found my way to this wall that I love so muc In addition to American dishes, Warehouse offers Cajun & Creole dishes. I love NOLA style food, so of course I had gumbo and beignets--it was yum! Now unto the streets Color makes me happy I have several photos in front of this vibrant Torpedo Art Factory wall Random More Randoms
